I came away
From the city haze
The turmoils, the perils
To simply gaze

I came away
To be alone
To relish in solitude
Waves gently roam

My heart was in labour
The loss of my friend
If only...
Emotions descend

Now I stand quietly
Close to the edge
Tears swelling, sea mist
My heart makes a pledge

Life is so fragile
Each day is a gift
Every breath to be cherished
Thoughts are to sift

Deep in reflection
My friend now at rest
The wind gently whispers
My heart finds a nest
